I take a rest today.

I dont know what caught up with me today. It could be fatigue or my age.  For a 61 year-old, it is too early to call myself an old man, but I felt like that way since last evening.   My muscles and nerves were troubling me throughout the night  and keeping me tired and miserable and keeping me awake almost the whole night, leaving me so tired that I slept like a log from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.

I shudder to think how destitute people who suffer from pain and insomnia will be miserable. There are people who do not have roof, clothing or sustenance and nobody to love them.

I laugh a lot.  I like to keep people around me happy and confortable, whatever their station in life is. But in my heart of hearts, there is an indescribable void which nothing or no one could fill.  It is not to say that I sit and rue for my wife all the time.  Consciously I forget her absence most of the time, but an an unconscious level I always feel the heaviness of my loss.

  1. Very touching!

  2. Thanks Rupa. Not only do you tolerate me because I act more like a mother in law than a father in law to you and am driving you nuts with comments like less salt, more sugar, you serve my favourite coffee whenever I ask, you go a step further and encourage my writing. No wonder I could write tolerably because my Gold medalist M.Phil daughter in law is around to moderate my script all the time. Thanks Rupa.
